Michael’s commentary reflects a lifetime of his careful study of, and his personal meditation on, God’s Word with an uncommon depth of understanding undergirding his practical applications. As I read its pages, I feel like I’m a privileged guest, invited to pull up a chair in the family room where all the grandchildren are having an engaging conversation with Grandpa! It’s as if he has anticipated their questions, and his answers unleash the wisdom of God’s Word into their lives. And I get to listen in! Permeating every page is a heart of grandfatherly love, with the prayerful desire that each one may know the Father through faith in His Son. Chad, Pastor of East Ellijay Baptist Church, Ellijay GA
The Grandpa Harp Commentary is a great idea and a wonderful investment of love and vision. It is a great idea because it reflects Scriptural priorities to invest in one's children and grandchildren. It is an act of love because the author is giving to his grandchildren (and yours and mine) a treasury of gospel truth and God-centered devotion. What every godly parent and grandparent desires most is that their children and grandchildren will know and trust in the Lord. This commentary points readers in the right direction - to God's Word. It is visionary because the Bible instructs us to tell the "generation to come" of the greatness of God (Psalm 78:1-7). I have known Michael Harp for many years. He is a trustworthy man, Bible teacher, and without question deeply devoted to his family. His commentary is a gold mine filled with helps to understanding the greatest written treasure of all, the Bible. Get these volumes, read these volumes, and use them to teach your children and grandchildren and others. Ray, Pastor of Grace Community Church (SBC) in Dawsonville, GA and author of Susie: The Life and Legacy of Susannah Spurgeon, Yours, till Heaven; the Untold Love Story of Charles and Susie Spurgeon.
I have really enjoyed being one of the blessed recipients of Grandpa Harp's Commentary. I appreciate the thoroughness of explaining difficult passages, while making it both loving and personal. Lorna , Retired Children's Leader, Bible Study Fellowship, Perrysburg OH
Michael did such a good job breaking down and explaining Scripture in a thought provoking way. I included his writings in my morning devotions. God's word is truly alive and active. Laura, Mansfield OH
Rereading the Bible alongside Grandpa Harp's detailed commentary brought out the significance of passages that used to seem trivial. Grandpa's guide helped clarify the parables Christ used in his teaching. The parables might have been a great teaching method 2,000 years ago, but changing language and lifestyles required some additional explanations. Keith, Robinson IL
If you're well-versed in the Bible, this commentary will sharpen your knowledge. If you are wanting to expand your knowledge of the Bible, this commentary will exceed your expectations. Michael does a great job of explaining context and word usage. I believe the Holy Spirit has led Michael to produce this valuable tool. This commentary is a great example of iron sharpening iron. I’ve grown in my understanding, and reference the commentary over and over. Rick, Macon GA
These daily messages were uplifting, encouraging, thought provoking, and informative. Even during Covid, and through all the normal slings and arrows of life, Michael was a rock. Randy and Michele, Helena AL
I really appreciate the truths provided, and the depth of the thinking displayed in this commentary. Edward, Kennesaw GA
I have enjoyed reading the lessons each day and found things that I didn’t know, and was able to apply to my life. I also used several “nuggets” from the lessons in the Sunday School class that I taught each week. Chuck, Evansville IN
What a blessing to walk alongside Grandpa Harp in his journey of bringing the beauty of the New Testament alive. Although I am not blessed with grandkids, I love this style of scriptural lessons, followed by Michael’s Holy Spirit-led thoughts. God is truly glorified. Linda, Mansfield OH
Grandpa Harp’s Commentary will serve as a stellar contribution to the spiritual life of anyone who reads it. What a joy, what learning I have gained from reading it.
Roger, Kennesaw GA
I enjoy starting the day with my prayers and Bible readings. Michael's thoughts were a welcome addition to my morning spiritual routine. I especially liked ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication) as a good way of formatting my prayers! Carl, Downingtown PA
Mike has been sharing his bible study notes with me for over five years. I have found them particularly helpful in understanding some of the stickier points in a straightforward manner, and have used them often. I have shared them with the men in our weekly neighborhood Bible study on many occasions. His lessons are one of my "go-to" resources. Blessings. Jay, Naperville IL
I've read the entire Bible two or three times perviously. During this journey through the Bible with Mike, he provided insight and awareness that just wasn't possible by reading the Bible on my own. At times he referenced several verses related to the same topic, and at others, he explained the situation or conditions relating to the verses being studied. I found it most helpful. Bart, Canton OH
I looked forward each morning to join you in the daily lesson. Life goes by so quickly, and it is good to stay connected as we walk through this life journey together. Thank You for taking the lead and allowing us to be part of the journey together. Ray, Summerville SC
